History

Mid 19C (end of the Edo period) Established as a merchant of pigment, safflower dye, and urushi at Karasuma-Nishiki-agaru.
Around 1920 Moved to the current location as a wholesaler of urushi.
1968 Established as Kato Kohe Shoten Co., Ltd.
April 2007 Started the urushi lacquering class.
